Integrated Sexual Health Services

The new Integrated Sexual Health Service is aimed primarily at under 25 year olds living within BH1-BH18 postcode area. The clinics offer combined screenings for sexually transmitted infections with contraceptive services by appointment only. They are confidential nurse-led clinics.

The clinics offer:

• Screening for asymptomatic (having no symptoms) Sexually Transmitted Infections, testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B & C.
• Tests are taken for women through a self-taken swab and a blood test and for men a urine sample and a blood test.
• Contraceptive Health Services, which include methods of contraception (not IUD/ IUS), Emergency Contraception, pregnancy testing and free condoms.
• Advice and Information.
• Treatment for Chlamydia and referral for treatment of other STI's.

These are convenient and easy to access to have a check-up if you feel you may have put yourself at risk of getting a sexually transmitted infection.

Many sexually transmitted infections can be present without you feeling ill or have any side-effects that could be noticeable to you but could cause damage to your long term sexual health.
